• PUBLIC SAFETY
"Public Safety is always an issue. Statistically crime is down in the 6th Ward compared to last year. But there are still some challenging areas in this Ward that will need to be addressed strategically. Operation Phoenix will be expanding into the California Gardens so that we can uplift the quality of life in that area.
• ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Economic Development is rapidly occurring on the northern border of the 6th Ward. Lowes is coming into that area as well as multiple warehouses, bringing in much needed jobs. Hillwood Developer is looking to bring in a Fed Ex distribution center off of Cajon Blvd. which will bring in more jobs to our City.
• YOUTH
Our young people are in need of programs that will aid them in their development as they progress to adulthood. The 20 acres at Delmann Heights presents an opportunity to provide them a place to achieve that goal. Partners have been solicited to help to make that an area where dreams can come true."
Mr. Johnson realizes that the challenges are many in the 6th Ward, but the opportunities are enormous. He is excited about the myriad of possibilities that are coming this way. He is looking forward to working with all of our partners to bring about a positive change in the City of San Bernardino in general and the 6th Ward in particular. |
